Issue 31/2026 — I.D.P. Commemorates “Rapee Day” at RMUTP, Strengthening Legal Ideals through Peaceful Dispute Resolution

7 August 2026

The Institute for Education and Development of Conflict Management by Peaceful Means Foundation (I.D.P.) was honored to be invited by Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), a partner institution under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony commemorating His Royal Highness Prince Rapeepattanasak, Krom Luang Ratchaburi Direkrit — revered as the “Father of Thai Law.” The ceremony took place at the royal monument within the university grounds.

This commemorative event was held to express deep respect and gratitude for His Royal Highness’s profound contributions to Thailand’s legal system. Executives, staff members, and representatives from partner organizations attended the ceremony in unity, paying tribute in a dignified and respectful manner.

From Legal Foundations to Peaceful Dispute Resolution

On this significant occasion, I.D.P. emphasized the intrinsic connection between “law” and “peaceful conflict resolution.” Law serves as the fundamental pillar ensuring justice and social order, while dispute mediation represents an innovative and essential mechanism within the justice system—an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) approach that reduces conflicts without relying solely on litigation.

This approach reflects the true spirit of the law: to foster harmony and stability in society.

Commemorating the Father of Thai Law on this year’s Rapee Day therefore marks an important milestone in reaffirming the collaborative commitment between I.D.P. and RMUTP. Both institutions will continue to advance knowledge, promote mediation skills, and strengthen the application of peaceful means in resolving disputes across Thai society in an effective and sustainable manner, in alignment with their MOU framework.
