The Institute for Education and Development of Conflict Management by Peaceful Means Foundation (I.D.P.) held its 1/2026 Subcommittee Meeting on Conflict Management by Peaceful Means to concretely drive the organization’s strategy in creating a constructive conflict management system. The meeting was honorably chaired by Mrs. Prakairatana Thontiravong, President of the Foundation.

During the event, the meeting acknowledged the appointment of the subcommittee, reviewed the foundation’s history, and discussed past key achievements. Additionally, they deliberated on the guidelines for advancing the 2023–2027 organizational strategic plan and the 2026 annual action plan. These plans are deeply focused on developing a constructive conflict management system to enhance public access to peaceful processes more effectively.
Pushing for a 3-Level Mediation Curriculum to Establish Professional Standards A significant agenda driven during this meeting was the creation of a “3-Level Mediation Curriculum.” This initiative aims to develop professional mediators and instructors capable of handling today’s increasingly complex disputes. The curriculum is divided into:
- Beginner Level: Focusing on laying the fundamental groundwork of mediation.#
- Intermediate Level: Focusing on enhancing professional mediation skills.
- Advanced Level: Focusing on cultivating specialized expertise and leadership.
Preparing to Study the “Singapore Model” to Elevate to International Standards
To elevate the standards of Thai mediators to an international level, the subcommittee approved a plan to coordinate a study visit and training program centered on the dispute mediation management process in Singapore. The primary goal is to adapt international knowledge, technological approaches, and global standards as foundational elements to develop and classify the foundation’s mediators. This will ensure they meet international benchmarks, thereby building confidence at both national and global levels.

Toward the end of the meeting, resolutions were passed to appoint three additional secretaries and two fundraising working group members. The committee also welcomed volunteers from the subcommittee to collaboratively update all of the foundation’s curricula to remain relevant amidst changing circumstances. Proactive public relations strategies have also been planned once the curricula are fully completed.

The I.D.P. remains firmly committed to its core ideology: “Systematically driving conflict management through peaceful means, building professional mediators, and developing Thai society toward sustainable peace through cooperation, unity, and sustainable peaceful methods.”
